Some of the finest influences and innovators in jazz have been women. Former member of Straight Ahead and jazz flute virtuoso Althea Rene is one of them. With her 2005 release Rene offers up a funky and contemporary disc of R&B; influenced jazz full of spontaneous energy. Adding on the where her smash "Chocolate Rush" left off, "In The Moment" finds Althea Rene strengthening her sound and her position as a rising jazz star.
